The Ego is a composite. IMO.
Humans are possessed by the ego, as much as a 'spirit' possession.
Usually an ego/entity won't enter a foetus until it is viable about 16-20 weeks, as they have a limited precognition. Sometimes not until the first 24 hours cycle at birth, and sometimes different egos enter and exchange. A child can be born and exist without the ego entering, and only the universal consciousness breathes it...Until an ego/entity enters..
The ego is like a possessing entity taking over the body and mind and connecting to the energy of the person..The 'defence reaction response' of the animal mind of the human is enhanced by the possessing ego and expanded out of proportion to its original function. Most of the time the ego runs like software in the background of the mind, using minimal energy...However it attaches itself to the energy of the transducing hormones and maginifies itself from time to time....Hormones don't tell us what to think but they do tell us what to thinik about...The ego is adept at exploiting, and distorting the hormonal response of sexual desire or the adrenalin of the 'flight fight syndrome', and hugely expanding itself. It works by distorting attachment and its mirror opposite aversion, which in itself is an attachment in reverse.
The ego can seem to be harmless and 'loving'; it can appreciate an sunset, a flower, a child, a painting, a baby, an animal, charity and good works. Althought one should ask oneself the question..' Who is it that enjoys these things and who decides they are good or bad?' The ego deceives people into thinking that sentimental emotional situations are love, when in fact they are mostly 'Pollyanna' attachments..Real Love is something different that is equally in the sinner and the saint, and is 'The ground of all in illusion'; it is the Prana of the Sakti, the Universal Energy Projector.
So in essence the ego has usurped the body/mind of the human simian, for the sole purpose of pursuing and experiencing pleasure and enjoyment, resulting in attachment and addiction. It is the 'Thief in the Palace' of King Janaka. Once we have identified this thief or possessing entity we can start to work on eliminating it through observation, spiritual practises and meditation.
Most humans react and do not notice that they have the ego hiding in their mind, like the computer programme playing in the background. We have to ask ourselves 'Who is doing this action?' and 'Who is that?' to the answer. The ego survives the body and will go looking for a new body, subtle or material after death...It has to be annihilated in the body it occupies..............Tony.
This is why it is important apparently to experience death before realisation...This is taking the body back to its non ego position..
The ego has no beginning but it has an end.....Moksha....When this planet became cool enough to sustain life and DNA had done its work, the small 'I's started to turn up in ever increasing numbers looking for bodies to live in. As many had never lived in gross bodies at all,and were fascinated, and many hadn't lived in bodies since before the last Maha Pralaya..So ego has always been a composite of illusion....just as Iswara is the composite of all the Jivas;..or a forest a composite of all the trees. A tree has the capacity to recognise you if you pass it everyday or talk to it..just as a plant can react to danger and harm. So here we have the beginnings of what we now call the ego/soul/entity. As soon as it is associated with this physical manifestation, it takes on desires, attachments and fears, and a subtle ego/entity becomes enmeshed in material totally. Even the plant has a separateness in its totality...so here we have evolution in an upward direction and a downward karmic direction, from the subtle ego/entities..
The human then takes the defensive reaction response mechanism of the non human world and builds and expands this defence mechanism on to the primitive subtle ego....hence the human ego. A distortion of a safety mechanism, without which an animal wouldn't know it was in danger or being attacked,,
...This response is taken by the potentiality in the mind and expanded into the great Ego or Ahamkara we know today..
This also accounts for the great disparity in intelligence levels and awareness...As some are coming up and some come down...So for humans the ego/entity is like a possessing spirit that enjoys the body and attachments it doesn't have in the subtle. If it is treated this way it is easier to identify and eventually get rid of it....
The upcoming ego from the animal and vegetable world is usually not heavily represented in the human and they appear more quiet and simpler than most...
Apart from this there are the deliberate descents of the Kumaras...who tried to put right the mess of evolution that the descending ordinary subtle egos had made. These came from the areas around the Pleiades, Sirius and Orion..apparently and were the Sons of Most High or Angelic. Some of these are probably still around after becoming enmeshend in materiality themselves, but they would tend to be more advanced beings in the main.
Extract from an introduction:
A long time ago, when the earth was very young and fresh, there were rolling prairies of blue-green grass and the forests were steamy, tropical and full of fruit and nut trees. Also the mountains had white tops and the air was crystal clean and so were the rivers and streams. The water was sweet and the geese wore no shoes in those days, and come to think of it they still wear no shoes. Well upon these beautiful scene came "Spirit Beings", from the subtle dimensions. Whether they had come from a previous Pralaya, or Dissolution of the Universe, or were always in the spirit, or up from the animal world, I don't know. However it seems that they had already fallen far away from the God Source. Their consciousness was drifting in and out, and they became aware of the rolling steamy mists of Earth. Fantastic reptiles in rainbow colours moved through green-brown swamps and herds moved over the rolling blue-grass prairies. Somewhere a sound vibration was flying from the throat of a gliding air animal. As the subtle beings became more aware and attached to this planet; they saw and felt many life forms. Some of these were small and slow, some agile apes and monkeys. They hovered around them and wished to emulate their behaviour. They felt the delight as the animals ate the fruit, scampered around, made love, made sounds, filling everything with vibrations. These Beings became so attached that they began to think, or morph up bodies for themselves, in order to enjoy this planet, but they would still go back and forth between the planes. Eventually they thickened their vibrations, by slowing them down, and they partook of the earth. They ate the food and experienced the senses and the more they did this the more they couldn't return to their spiritual home. They led the flocks of birds and herds of animals. They in fact morphed and became trapped in animal bodies of fantastic shapes, sizes and mixtures. (Some were not trapped permanently, but developed Yogic powers, over the millions of years and some misused them.) It was a big mess and they eventually forgot where they had come from. This distortion of evolution continued for many millions of years until some of the normal animals had evolved into higher animals, apes, and manlike beings. So there was a downward devolution as well as an upward evolution on this planet. Now the beings were mixing more and creating all kinds of monsters. So it was decided that the Deity of the planet would descend with the "Sons of God", or Kumaras, Divine Beings, and help save these beings and natural evolution. They took an advanced hairless man-like Ape as their model. The first descent failed for they sat around and meditated, and didn’t procreate enough, so a further descent of Kumaras was required. This second descent was too successful however.(These were the "Sons of God", and Giants mentioned in the Bible, Gen :6, "When mankind had spread all over the world and girls were being born, some of the supernatural beings saw that these girls were beautiful, so they took the ones they liked." 6:4 " In those days, and even later, there were giants on the earth who were descendants of human women and the supernatural beings. They were the great heroes and famous men of long ago."" So here we have these hybrids or Nefilm! Or the Annunaki of the Ancient Sumerians.)
{Gen 2:7 St Paul,1 Corinthians`15:47-50, ‘The Book of Enoch’, 6-9.
The Kumaras; Bhagavata Purana, Skanda 3, 7:20, Skanda 4, 1, Skanda 3, 11:12 Skanda 3, 5:3:12.)
Many people have told similar stories and there is a Kabbalistic tradition about the first woman Lilith, and not forgetting The Indian Ramayana. The Ramayana is full of stories of these various beings. Really the story of the Ramayana is about the battle for supremacy between the Rakshasas or Ogre Humans and the New Humans. The Ogre or Shape-Shifter Humans have been trying to regain dominance ever since, and are still with us now. 'Westminster Time Files'.....Tony O'Clery.
Of course the common ground between all the egos, entitiies and everything is the ground of Love Energy of the Sakti. As this suffuses everything this is the way to Moksha.
Mathru Sri Sarada's Realisation.
In the first few minutes after Moksha ......Her arms and legs went stiff and cold and her circulation stopped....------she was unable to open her eyes-------it took five days to regain any consciousness for any length of time....It took Swamy 12 months to get her to remain conscious......Amma
The 'I' thought, (ego), went back to the Heart but again it was only a temporary subsidence. Three minutes later it rose again and once again started to bang against the inside of her skull. Sarada came forward and placed her head on Swamy's feet and a few seconds later the 'I' thought returned to its source and died forever...Amma.
From a science site:
Of course scientists always look for the scientific explanation but it is interesting anyway.......Tony
There are documents describing instances when a human body could wonderfully do
without brain. A baby was born in the... New York hospital of Saint Vincent in
1935; he did all things that babies usually do: slept, ate and even cried. When
the baby died, doctors were surprised with the results of autopsy: there was no
brain inside the cranium. The incredible instance was registered as a scientific
mystery.
Scientists were racking their brains more and more over new facts that
contradicted the traditional medical canons. Information about new incredible
instances was reported from reliable sources and couldn't be falsification.
Famous German neurosurgeon Professor Haufland described a case of a patient
stricken by paralysis; the man was of sound mind until his death. At that time
doctors had no equipment to look inside the patient's head to discover the fact,
but even if they had such an opportunity, they would have seen nothing inside
the cranium. When the cranium was dissected after his death, Professor Haufland
discovered spinal liquid instead of brain there.
In 1940, a 14-year-old boy was delivered to a Bolivian hospital of Nikolay
Ortiz, his diagnose was brain-growth. The patient complained of severe headache
that became especially painful in the evening. Soon the boy died, and doctors
even had no time to perform an operation on him. What doctors discovered after
the dissection wasn't certainly human brain. A giant abscess filled almost the
whole of the cranium, which made doctors hesitate whether the medical science
was precise at all.
Unlike religion, science failed to explain such phenomena. Otherwise, the basic
medical postulates would have to be obligatorily revised. Indeed, complex
movements such as walking or running are performed with the help of feedback
with the brain. The theory of "abdominal brain" seems to be the only believable
hypothesis. American scientists found accumulation of nerval tissue on the inner
surface of the gullet and the stomach. Scientists counted that the number of
neurons in the "third brain center" made up over 100 million, which is more than
even in the spinal cord. They say, it is not a mere nervous joint, but a
formation capable of keeping information and even influencing our emotions and
health. American scientists say, "the abdominal brain" commands secretion of
hormones in stress situations, it urges the body for struggle or escape.
However, the phenomenon isn't thoroughly studied; it is not ruled out that it
may unveil the mystery of decapitated bodies that can run after execution.

Buddhism and Vedanta,
Namaste All,Buddhism and Vedanta,
Continuing with my post on the Buddhist void, Sunyata I suppose?, and the Vedanta. I know in Buddhist thought there are the ‘absorptions, with different modifications like bliss, etc. and then rising above all these. Ending up with ‘nothingness’, and then non-perception nor perception.
Well Vedanta admits to something similar with the five sheaths and kosas and the states of waking, dreaming, deep-sleep, and Turiya. (There are also different levels of Samadhi, Samadhi not being exactly the same as the same concept in Buddhism but nearer the Dhyana.) So waking, and dreaming are really wrong perception, and deep-sleep is non-perception. However with non-perception we have the seed, as not being awake to the true reality, which results in the other states I suppose of wrong perception or an effect. So ignorance causes the effect. So with deep-sleep there is an absence of knowing.
I think that connection with the body conceals the ‘real’, knowledge or Vidya. In dreams the senses cease to function , so everything is happening in the ‘light’, of the ‘Self’. So whatever happens in dream doesn’t attract any karma for it due to previous good and bad karma that the dream takes place. So anything in a dream is not binding, also some dreams are past lives, future lives, and astral travel. We know this ,for when we awake we don’t take any responsibilities for the happenings in a dream, or perhaps you don’t remember. There is an underlying consciousness to all this, otherwise one wouldn’t even be able to detach from the last dream.
In dreamless sleep there is still a veil over our consciousness, which makes it part of Saguna. That is, the consciousness is awake but there is nothing for it to know except nescience prevailing.
In Buddhism, as there are different ‘absorptions’, there are some differences in the Vedanta. Coma, Deep-sleep, Laya, and Yoga-Nidra, all sharing some similarities.
It is all about samskaras or impressions I suppose. It is like a vibration is actually a subtle, kind of lack of ‘True Consciousness’; The more gross the vibration the less the manifestation of this Consciousness, and the greater the veil.
So is the vibration the lack of consciousness or limitations or is the lack of consciousness the vibration, a chicken or egg question, both veiled in avarana and illusory anyway. Like a still ocean and each ripple is the limitation, building up to an individual wave/jiva. So lack of consciousness is ‘movement’, or the illusion of movement. However the seed must still be in the Self for it returns after pralaya or dissolution, as we return from deep-sleep.
In reality there is no ocean of Saguna Brahman only the Nirguna Brahman, perhaps you can call this the void or sunyata or moksha, or Turiya. However one cannot even call it this for then it is modified and thus Saguna.
As Pilate asked Jesus, " What is Truth?". Jesus didn’t answer for that was his answer, No modification, it is above perception and non-perception.
In Vedanta there is the concept of ‘God’, with attributes and also without attributes which is the Truth.

Psychic Attacks.
Psychic Attacks.
On one particular occasion I was working as a portrait photographer in the Queensland Bush. I had taken a team of canvassers and myself to Mt. Isa, en route Darwin. The Isa is a large mining town in a semi-arid region of Queensland. I quite liked it there for there was a large Irish Club that I was a member of and business was good in the town.
Amongst my crew was a New Zealander, a Pake Ha, or white man. He was really hitching a ride to Darwin, in order to go on "the dole". He told the others that he was a witch, and I didn't take much notice at the time. I poo-pooed this and of course put myself in his bad books. I was to regret my cynicism and dis-belief for he was pretty strange anyway and didn't seem to approve of our business either.
One particular morning I noticed that my door was ajar and I had a hazy recollection of two people in my room. It was the witch and another fellow a young Scottish Immigrant, his friend.I thought it a strange dream and I dismissed it. Later in the day a few of my canvassers quit, including one with a car. So I had to go and rent a car. Whilst I was parking, the young friend of our witch asked me how my legs were. I told him that they were fine but then I noticed that they were getting weak below the knees. I had noticed some effects before this, but this directed my mind to them. I thought I must have a vitamin defficiency so I bought some mult-vitamins and had a meal.
As it happened I notice an old Aborigine woman, whose photos I had taken, staring at me from over the road. She could see something I could not and I would never find out what she saw, for years. I took many Aboriginal Portraits and many were on credit. The Aboringines always paid me, the whites, on credit, on the other hand invariably did not. This was the opposite of what I was told to expect. Anyway my legs were not getting better and I needed the car to get around.
The weakness was now up to my knees, a very strange feeling indeed. I decided to go into town to the Irish Club and have a beer and a chat. As I started out I felt a bolt of energy go through me and found myself saying " l Iove God,I love God," a most unusual thing for me to say .After this my legs began to strengthen but I didn't associate it at the time. I just thought the multi-vitamins were working. I kept the "Divine Experience" though and it started me thinking again about God. I still didn't go to Church though. About a year later I made a return to religious, if not spiritual enquiry and it no doubt started here in Mt.Isa. It was still a Christian oriented path though and I was reading the Bible and listening to prophecies.
A few years later when I was into the Huna and Hawaiian Mysticism I noticed something that shocked me. I was reading one of Max Freedom Long's books on the Huna and I came across a chapter describing how the Kahunas cursed people. I then remembered the witch in Mt.Isa. He said that he had been taught by the Maori Tofungas, Kahuna in Maori. I won't describe the method here but I realised that I had been cursed, Anana, and that my life had been in danger. I had been attacked by familiar spirits or thoughtforms, who would have eventually eaten up my energy or mana.
The energy bolt that went through me was a Divine Intervention of my Higher Self or Kundalini, and probably saved me from an illness or worse. I haven't had a problem since, although I still have the memory of it. The Buddha said if you don't accept a present from someone it stays with the giver. So put white light around oneself and refuse to accept the present, it will go back to whence it came. That is how to protect oneself from these attacks plus prayer is also a help.
One day, many years later, I was talking to Charlie T, in Vancouver, and he narrated a very similar experience to me. It seems that he had been working on the oil-rigs for a Singapore company and was making very good wages. His supervisor was a corrupt ex-cop and demanded bribes for contractual renewals. He was demanding quite a few hundred U.S. dollars and Charlie refused to pay. Charlie went direct to the company instead and this enraged the supervisor. Some time later Charlie became quite ill and lost all energy from his body and ended up on a respirator. How Charlie described it to me, it started in his legs and then worked it's way up his body. After recovering a little, a Malaysian who had yogic siddhis, did a cleansing on him. He told Charlie that he had been cursed by a dark, evil, witchdoctor.. It seemed the energy drained from Charlie's body from the feet upwards and weakened his whole system as it moved up his body. Eventually it progressed to his throat area, causing great pain, as it moved from the lower chakra to his vital organs. This process usually takes three days, I was attacked for only one day.
A lady told Charlie that he had been cursed by the supervisor on the rigs, who had gone to an evil yogi in Thailand, and paid him to curse Charlie to a painful lingering death. This was so similar to my story I was sure of what happened to me. It seems "evil mystics" use" thought forms" and captive or familiar spirits to curse you. These entities feed on your energy, prana or mana, starting at your feet and then progressively and aggressively work up your body destroying you. Charlie was given the opportunity to send the curse back to the curser but didn't bother now he was well. Also he was a spiritual person and didn't want to cause harm. In my case I did eventually forgive the Tofunga, or Dark Witch.
So one has to be so careful, some of these "left-hand Yogis". That is why one has to be so careful who one is listening to or associating with.
One of my own daughters also had a problem with spirit oppression, and she tried spiritual teachers, minor gurus and everything but nothing worked. They even were pulling her hair and terrorising her. Eventually she got fed up and told them that if they didn't stop bothering her she would get help and that they would be stuck on the lower planes forever. Once the fear was gone so were the oppressions.

You will note that my post was almost all directly lifted from the words of Sri Lakshamana Swami....with some possible inference of the Mundaka....I am not a Mukti to state such a thing...However it is my understanding that if the vasanas are destroyed by Jnana or Bhakti then the 'Grace' can shine through as it is there all the time...So then it would be the inner guru that enlightens...However if one is not so advanced as Ramana but on the verge of realisation as was Mathru Sri Sarada then the intervention of a physical guru was apparently necessary..Also a living Guru can dispense Saktipat and Diksha to devotees, and only living Guru can be the medium for that..Ramana did this intervention with his mother and with several animals...a deer, Lakshmi the Cow etc. Sri Lakshmana Swami also did it with Sarada and with animals as well....even a rat...
Without insulting anybody a Mukta doesn't exist after death only the Self...So Ramana isn't around anymore but as a name for the Inner Guru or Self..This then posits the question whether one is advanced enough in the removal of vasanas to get one's own Grace so to speak or whether the intervention of a Guru with Saktipat and Diksha would be beneficial.. In my case I'm afraid I would need the living guru...at this point in my sadhana...Cheers Tony.
As you know on an ashram I was visited by a subtle yogi or siddha some years ago...and given some Diksha...which helped me progress from the position that I was in...Also when I was visiting my late father in Wales, where he had retired, I went up on a mountain and did a meditation....on awakening I had two words in my mind in Welsh..Clwyd Bach or similar....I don't speak Welsh so I had to ask my father who did and he said it meant 'a small gateway'..I didn't see the expression in that way for many years, then I came across the exact terminology spoken by a now living Guru.....Auspicious...hopefully...........Cheers Tony.

Sat-Cit-Ananda and NirGuna Brahman.
Sat-Cit-Ananda and NirGuna Brahman.
If one reads Ramana one will find references to Sat-Cit-Ananda as 'qualities' of the Self..Ramana very rarely goes beyond that except for a reference to Ajativada when talking of 'creation' theories. I think the reason for that is because most of his audience were bhaktas and hearing the beloved as such didn't exist is troubling...Nisargadatta Maharaj on the other hand, had a different audience so he took the teachings beyond consciousness to NirGuna...It is difficult to imagine NirGuna but it seems Saguna can be imagined as a blissful 'experience' of absolute bliss, consciousness and absolute existence....Maharaj says we must go beyond conscisousness. Taking these teachings logically takes one to the point were it is apparent that Saguna/Siva/Self/Sat-Cit-Ananda and NirGuna are realised simultaneously...only for a period of time whilst the life prarabda winds down to death is there any illusion apparent...For when the body drops of the Mukta all Saguna and Self disappear...
There is some indication of this in the false unity of 'deep sleep' and samadhis, but it is real in Nirvikalpa Samadhi...For where has Saguna/Self gone....it never ever happened....That is the absolute truth.......Ajativada completely.....Tony.

Sadgurus don't need to speak and discourse to teach...
Namaste, Sadgurus don't need to speak and discourse to teach...
I go on about about neo-advaitins and their teaching of 'lazy person's' enlightenment and no sadhana or practise...Whether it is the Sadhana of Vedanta or the Eight Fold Path of Buddha it is all necessary..In fact until these MCDonald;s instant gratification, franchised advaita, appeared on the scene...there would never have been a distraction...For now we have 'so many teaching so little to so many'..
My point with the non mukta teachers is that they are verbal non dualists or vndists..they have no Saktipat or Diksha, they only talk and regurgitate. True Sadgurus and Muktas do not need to come down to the level of speech to entertain people...That is one way to find the needles in the haystack...So this sorts out the real teachers the Muktas from all the neo advaitins and vndists..you can do it for yourself...Tony.
The Vndists and neo advaitins are just a step on the way and are interested in themselves mostly...so it is fine to listen but not at the expense of true teachings which exist......
1...Visitor: Is the relationship between the Guru and the disciple similar to
telepathy?
Â
Maharaj: Yes, telepathy can function if the receptivity is good. Some have a
buffalo like skull; no amount of thrashing affects that dull animal.
Â
V: Would Maharaj speak about the Guru and disciple relationship?
Â
M: The Guru links the relationship of the disciple with Self-knowledge and the
disciple nourishes it. The Guru links you to Self-knowledge, that is you Guru,
nourish it. The knowledge ‘you are’ is the Guru, once linked don’t disturb
the relationship by identifying with the body. Once a woman is married to a man,
it’s done, each must behave accordingly. Once linked with the Guru, you must
not identify, with the body. The knowledge ‘you are’, be there with full
devotion, the knowledge ‘I am’ is not the body.

No words, no movement, and all was stillness! He sat still, and all sat still, waiting. The clock went on striking, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, one, two and three. Sri Bhagavan sat and they sat. Stillness, calmness, motionless-not conscious of the body, of space or time. Thus eight hours passed in Peace, in Silence, in Being, as It is. Thus was the Divine Reality taught through the speech of Silence by Bhagavan Sri Ramana-Dakshinamurthy.

How CAn One Recognize a Realized Teacher or Sadguru by Tony O'Clery.
How CAn One Recognize a Realized Teacher or Sadguru by Tony O'Clery.
First of all a True Guru will call you and you will know from inside...the heart..However they usually share some common signals.
1. Teach vegetarianism .....for Daya, Ahimsa and self purification.
2. Teach recognisable Teachings from Vedanta and other Muktas. All is One and the small 'I' is false.
3. Usually they are not over active and don't travel a lot if possible....Nowhere to go!!!
4. They teach a lot by silence like Dakshinamurthi.....and are not given to long road show discourses...
5. They do not write copiously..but may answer questions.....but not usually from dilletantes..
6. Have the ability to answer obtuse questions without being tertiary educated...
7. You can usually feel their energy and they can give Diksha or initiation and Saktipat....
8. They are usually not making, generating and selling Books, DVDs, and asking for donations.
9. They are not given to siddhis and miracles although things may happen around them.
10. Regard all beings as being equal including animals.
11. Sometimes grant Moksha to animals......and advanced humans...
12. They usually prefer to more reclusive than expansive....
13. Demonstrate or advise some kind of sadhana...and meditation.
14. A Mukta has gone through a complete literal death experience losing the ego..Like Jesus,Ramana,Maharaj,Lakshamana, Saradamma, and others.
Those road show gurus are not usually Muktas and although do good work for everybody and themselves cannot impart initiation as only a Mukta with power of the Self can do that...
Of course the easiest way is to become a Mukta..............

My Gurus..
My Gurus..
I'm not sure how to answer that as I can only go by coincidences...........My first Guru was a spirit called Ibn el Rasa...who used to tell me to take 'the middle path'..I was into the Sufis at the time...I found out later that this meant Son of Sweetness or Rasa like Krishna. He appeared from nowhere and continued in my meditations for some time....even when I had the heavy Kundalini experience in my Heart Cakra...
My first book on any guru was on Ramana Maharshi....my second was on Ramana my third was 'No mind I am the Self'..on Sri Lakshmana Swamy and Mathru Sri Sarada..two years after...I was following the sai baba fraud for while but with the other foot in the Ramana camp..During this period I was visited, on an ashram in India, by the Subtle Siddha Yogi and received some initiation or Diksha on the process of meditation to the mindless state. One time I was visiting my late father who lived in Wales...I went up on to the feol or hillside to meditate. Before the meditation took hold I heard two words in Welsh...I don't speak Welsh by the way..So when I came back down I asked my father what the words meant..He said they mean ' small gateway'....ok that was in 1992. For ten years--Until fairly recently I never thought about a physical embodied Guru, only the Inner Guru..So I have only concentrated on the Self...Recently however it came to my mind that I needed something else to make progress, as I seem to be stuck on the wrong side of the river...I am intellectually enlightened but that means I don't need to read anymore...However when I was reading No Mind book again, I found the phrase 'the small gateway' on page 195.. This is what I heard on the mountain in Welsh...Clwyd Bach or similar..Then I realised that an embodied Guru or duo Lakshmana and Mathru must have been monitoring my progress, as I came from the Ramana camp so to speak, as did they....So I take that to be auspicious and if I have a need for a physical guru....I use them...I imagine them in my heart as the Self and then they merge into formlessness...SO MY GURU IS STILL THE INNER SELF BUT WITH AN EMBODIED INNER.OUTER SELF as well...Cheers and Om Namah Sivaya ...Tony,

A Living Guru is necessary and Why...Jesus, Ramana, Lakshama,Mathru.
A Living Guru is necessary and Why....Jesus, Ramana, Lakshama,Mathru
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.John..14:6.
A Living human Guru is essential for Self Realisation. It is the Self acting as the medium of the Guru which finally destroys the ego and only the human guru can act as the medium. When the guru gives up his body The Self can no longer use him to destroy the devotee's ego...Sri Lakshmana Swamy.
The exception .Ramana Maharshi was a very advanced soul and almost completed his sadhana in his previous life.
The mind can never eliminate itself without the grace of the Self. The mind is afraid of its own death it will not do anything to endanger its own existence. It is like a thief who poses as a policeman in order to catch himself; the thief will only pretend to catch himself because he ultimately wants to escape....
Lakshmana says If one concentrates on and has devotion towards a dead guru then grace will come from the unmanifest Self and not from the form of the guru. This can take one to an effortless thought free state but it cannot pull the mind into the Self and destroy it...Only a Guru can do this.( A real Mukta Guru with power of diksha and saktipat. 99.99% of Gurus are not Sadguru Muktas..and probably 100% of Western teacher satsang gurus).
The mind will engage in sadhana or practise thinking that it wants to destroy itself, but as soon as the mind starts to sink in the Heart, a great fear arises which prevents the mind from completely subsiding. This fear is part of the minds self defence mechanism and you will never overcome it by effort alone. It is because of this that you need a Guru..Mukta Guru...--The Grace of the Guru calms the mind and helps it overcome the fear which otherwise prevent it from completely subsiding.
Some people say complete equanimity of mind is Self realisation, but this is not true. This is only a stage one passes through on the way

How it happened to me
How it happened to me.I had energy experiences since...I was a child, but I thought they came off rocks or the environment...They started get more apparent and heavy about 1982..I was an agnostic but I thought 'God' was talking to me...I had thought God was an energy anyway...In 1984 I started meditating after finding an expensive book by Richard Hittleman in the one dollar tray...From there I went to North American Spirituality, Chinese Tao, Kabbala and the Sufis...Zikrs and all...In 1985 on a visit to familiy in Australia I was on Bondi Beach, where I ate a hamburger. I fell asleep on the beach and had a strange dream that I was a cow. I saw the whole proces of the slaughterhouse, including fear, smells, noises, terror, cruel treatment etc....It was a horrifying nightmare and I awoke saying aloud 'They know, they know they are to be cruelly slaughtered'.That day I became a vegetarian on the strength of that dream....that very day.I had always said that if I ever really thought about the morality of eating meat, I would probably stop.
I was in the Theosophical Bookshop and I bought the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita after attending a speech by so called Sadguru from Hawaii called Butler. I later bought a book suggested by the staff on sai baba and was given an address to go to. This was the beginning of my involvement with this pedophile, murdering fraud guru...
Anyway I believed he was an avatar not a mukta...and I started reading Ramana Maharshi, by accident from a book in the library..'Be as you are'.1987.I had bought a book of letters from the Ramana Ashram the year before from a second hand bookshop, so I had heard the name....
Then the chronology goes like this....no referrals...
1. No mind I am the Self....1988.
2. Be as you are.....bought 1989.
3. Collected works of Ramana 1990....Sutras of Patanjali....
5. Ultimate Mediine..on Nisargadatta Maharaj....1989.
6. Pointers on Nisargadatta.1996.
7. I am that...Nisargadatta Maharaj...2001.
8. Power of the Presence....Ramana ...2003.
9. Plus I was heavily into Sankara, and Translated Sanskrit Texts, Puranas, etc....
So that is how it happened........plus visits to India.

Animal Muktas.
Lakshmi came near and started licking the papers. Bhagavan looked up and said: "Wait a little, Lakshmi." But Lakshmi went on licking. Bhagavan laid his paper aside, put his hands behind Lakshmi's horns and his head against hers. Like this they stayed for quite a long time. After some ten minutes or so, Bhagavan t...urned to me and said: "Do you know what Lakshmi is doing? She is in Samadhi."
Samadhis are built for Saints...Once an Ashram deer was attacked by some animal and the wounds turned from bad to worse. Sri Bhagavan sat near the deer and held its face in his hands, looking at its tearful eyes. Sri Bhagavan sat like that for a couple of hours. Chinnaswami asked my uncle who was standing close to look after the deer and relieve ... See MoreSri Bhagavan. Sri Bhagavan heard this but did not make any response. Sri Bhagavan sat there till the deer breathed its last. That was the compassion that Sri Bhagavan had for that deer. Soon after, Sri Bhagavan went to the hall. There is a Samadhi for the deer in the Ashram.
Swamy came across a cobra that had been woman in its last life.-----The cobra stopped in front of him raised its hood and looked at Swamy's eyes. Swamy looked back and the two of them gazed at each other for a few second...The cobra then lowered its hood and did pradakshina of Swamy's house.....After three visits it didn't return...Sri Lakshmana Swamy.

Process of Manifestation.
Process of Manifestation.....An extract from a few chapters I wrote in a joint effort tome....
By Tony O’Clery
Miracles are essentially technology that we don’t yet understand. We are moving into micro-nano technology, and unseen impulses and codes rule our present world. A thought is a thing, that is, it is created by our own mind, which is thought stuff in itself. (Or more accurately, thinking is identifying with a stream of thought.) The more one can penetrate the levels of mind, the more one can perform ’miracles’. However, there are ’left-hand’, yogis and magicians who also can perform some miracles, but this is not accompanied with any rise in spirituality. Even if one has some control over the lower astral planes, one can still perform these ’miracles’. One cannot influence a plane higher than one’s state of mind control.
Mantras or spells, and yantras or mind tools are used to trigger the mind into performing some feats. This is because they attract the corresponding vibration, in the subtle or less dense world. So the process of real personal magic is a system of belief, concentration and intense detailed visualization. There are other forms of unconscious, kinetic activity that seem to be triggered, by a person’s devotion to a ’God Form’. For example, I have seen ash, and ambrosia manifesting on pictures, not to mention on fruit, in temples and people’s homes. In some cases so much has been manifested, that a container had to be placed underneath to catch it all. Of course, there is also ’Spirit Activity’, as well.
According to the ancient wisdom, different planes can best be explained as the main divisions of consciousness. There are infinite permutations, but there appear to be certain levels in this whole of consciousness, blending subtly into one another. There are seven astral planes; the lower four, which could be regarded as somewhat difficult are the ’pretalokas’ or ’hell realms’. They are occupied with misshapen ghoulies, un-evolved humans, animals and non-humans. All the lower humans live here after death; criminals, drunkards, pedophiles and those with intense, unresolved hatreds and desires. They cannot satisfy their desires, so they learn from this frustrating experience. The Earth itself, as a lower plane, is a ’hell realm’, and there is much astral imaging here.
For example, the dark, subdued lights in bars and clubs echo the dark, dim light of the lower astral. So does much of the negative activity on the planet. The three, higher planes of the astral are what we commonly call ’heavens’, and are more pleasant and happy. All these planes involve beings having a recognizable form, albeit created by their own thoughts. Above the astral level, we have the mental planes, the lower four of which have form and every thought produces a living picture. The higher planes consist of blissful, living energies and colors, and in that way are without accepted human form. They are amorphous energy and light shapes, so to speak. Only the most advanced spiritual beings advance to the highest levels.
Above all these astral and mental planes and suffusing them, is the ’Consciousness’ Itself, or what some would call ’Immanent God’ or the Goddess. Above that is the inexplicable ’Transcendent’. The Ancient Wisdom teaches that, ’God’, projects a creation, an appearance, with which It is not involved... much like a dream, I suppose. This creation has a basis, a ’Unified Field’, or ’Akasa’, (Unitary Principle of Matter), which is suffused with and is ’Consciousness’. The ’Energy’ or ’Prana’, (Unitary Principle of Energy) --- at this stage--- is in a perfect balance and equilibrium. This is why one could think of the later manifested universe as even a hologram, for conscious energy is the ground or basis.
However, at certain periods it starts to manifest and gain attributes.
’The perfect state is ’the balance’ and it includes the potentiality of mind and intelligence to also be either ’active’, which is dynamic and has the potential of force, or ’dull’, which allows condensation to matter, inertness, destruction, ignorance, inactivity, sleep and death.’
These three form all the infinite, computations of matter and energy, as they interact ---forming all the energies, waves and particles or the ’creation’. This progresses to the ’opposites’, light and dark, joy and grief, action and reaction. This commences with vibration, then radiation and ends up with condensed energy or matter. The tradition is that the vibration is ’The Word’, OM, or ’Shabda’, which is described as ’Sound’. This leads to the question of: What is death? Sankara, a great philosopher of ancient times says it is “a separation from our desires”, or something similar to that. So it is a transition of consciousness, that is all it is ---a transition as to where the consciousness focuses. The fear and pain come from the loss of friends, family, attachments, and things we ’love’. When one dies, one moves initially to the ’Border Plane’, and one would retain a recognizable form... and in many cases, some consciousness of one’s situation. After some time, (usually a few days) a ’swoon occurs’, and this form is also left behind to disintegrate before the soul entity moves on to the astral. This is called the ’Second Death’. Moving from the astral would also entail another ’swoon’, and the disintegration of the astral bodies. In fact, moving up all the lower planes involves swoon and dropping of the corresponding ’shell’.
So called ’Evil Descents’ come from the lower four planes of the astral, which are nearer to this material plane. Hence, all the human desires and emotions are highlighted. They are nearer to the human attachments and desires of this physical plane. Because ’beings’ who dwell in the lower planes have no desire for spirituality, they strive for egoistic dominance and power over others. Many of them are adept at moving between these lower planes and really have no desire to move any higher. These are the beings that become the demonic: Hitler, Stalin and others. Many can shape-shift and bi-locate.
What is shape-shifting?
As I understand it ---from a yogic point of view--- the process is one of thought. While asleep, we all travel out of our physical bodies, but for so many of us there is no memory of this. Sometimes, we may just mistake it for a dream. However, a person with this siddhi, or yogic power, can do this consciously. This involves two different methods entirely. First of all, there is the bi-location effect, where a person is seen miles from where they are. This is the famous Doppelganger, or the etheric double, which really isn’t a separate body or sheath, but part of the physical body manifestation. It is a form of shape-shifting, but it is the same image and it is in a subtle form. The other type of shape-shifting, is where the form is more solidified to appear as a normal physical body. This can be done during different periods of time depending on the person. Some yogis have the ability to shift to numerous bodies, and some can take a different form or forms altogether. It all depends on mind control, and the abilities reached in previous incarnations.
To be able to demonstrate this in multiples manifestations ---at the same time--- takes a lot of yogic ability. Many spiritual yogis have this power, but it in itself is definitely not a sign of spirituality... anymore than riding a bicycle is. As most of the planet’s population, allegedly, have come up from the animal and mixture world, they do not have the ability to perform shape-shifting or other psychic feats. That is, it is not in the subtle, memory bank of their past tendencies and abilities. To make this a little clearer, it is necessary for me to explain the concept of bodies and their sheaths. In the Ancient Wisdom, there are three bodies: material, subtle and causal. These contain several sheaths, each more subtle than the other. The more one penetrates the mind, the more one has control over the lower sheaths and matter.
1.) The Food Sheath: The normal human physical body. This is what is known as the ’Material, or Physical Body’. (This is one of the reasons why some mystics are vegetarian, because it lightens the vibrations the body is composed of.)
2.) The Vital Energy Sheath: This is connected with all the human attributes and weaknesses, and energizes and heats the body.
3.) The Mental Sheath: This is the normal Lower Mind.
4.) The Awareness Sheath: This consists of pure and integrated awareness, or Higher Mind. These sheaths 2, 3, and 4, make up the ’Subtle Body’.
5.) The Bliss and Causal Sheath: The sheath of Human Potentiality. This sheath is experienced unconsciously in sleep, or consciously in some meditations. Beyond this is the Universal Consciousness, ’God/Goddess’, which blissfully, suffuses all the other sheaths and is the ’Ground’, (or basis) of everything. This is the Universal Over Soul.
At any given time ---depending upon which level or combination thereof that the person is operating at, so is the interpretation and function. So, working at level 3, an answer or interpretation would be different from that of level 4.
Those that shape-shift between planes, however, are still only operating at the lower mind level. They may even touch on the higher mind, but misuse it to perform “so called” miracles on the lower planes of mind. Because all is energy --yet it may change in form-- it cannot be destroyed, at least by man, that is.
In some ’past life’, experiences. I observed my body die several times, but it was like watching an old, silent movie. I have also had “out of my body” experiences while conscious. One time, I observed my body as it slept, only returning, for my inner clock told me that it was time to get up. Even though we all Astral Travel ---while in slumber--- (some consciously, some unconsciously) we often mistake it for a dream, as previously mentioned. However, on several occasions, I have visited with people close to me, those who have passed over. First of all, I talked to them almost quite normally while they were on the Border Plane, even observing that they could move around, so to speak.
On one occasion I was ’talking’, with an Aunt who had passed over; she had visited some places we had discussed and returned with some questions for me. After a few days of many conversations with both my daughter and I individually (My daughter is extremely sensitive and sees and hears the spirits), then with us together, there was a distinct change. She no longer seemed to answer me. So I went into a specific kind of meditation that I use on these occasions. I shall call it ’mind travel’, as opposed to the popular astral travel, which is limited. (I was initiated into this in India, by a Subtle Yogi. The technique allows me to cut through the lower planes.)
Dimensional Descents........Kumaras...
